UVLSRP Foundation

The Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Foundation is a non-profit with an IRS 501(c) designation founded in 2020. The mission of the Foundation is to support, enhance, and expand the services provided by the Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission.

The Foundation has identified three pillars of focus based on community needs and Commission expertise. These pillars support and enhance the work the Commission is already doing.

3 PILLARS OF THE FOUNDATION’S FOCUS

Community Engagement/Education – The Upper Valley never needed engagement support as much as it did during the global COVID-19 pandemic. As local entities worked to continue moving forward while keeping residents safe, public education and input increased. Community needs are changing and we all need to be a part of it. This pillar focuses on educating the public about regional trends, funding, and projects so that the public has input on the changes happening around them.

Public Health – As our healthcare leaders focus on wider issues such as the pandemic, there are other public health gaps that need to be filled. The Foundation intends to assist in filling those gaps and supporting public health planning and education in topics such as: emergency action and response plans, climate change initiatives, recreation and active living, household toxins, and aging in place.

Housing – The housing challenges in the Upper Valley are well known to all who live and work here. The Foundation intends for this pillar to focus on implementing the Housing Needs Plans and the Keys to the Valley Initiative. There is a plan. There are action strategies. This pillar intends to do some of the work to fix and reduce barriers to housing in the Upper Valley.
