Project Title:
Grantham Culvert Inventory
Related Services:
Land Use Planning, Natural Resources, Emergency Management, Transportation
Project Summary:
From July to December of 2014 UVLSRPC worked in conjunction with the Town of Grantham to complete a town wide culvert inventory. The inventory used the technology and format provided by the Statewide Asset Data Exchange Systems (SADES) which was created through input from several state agencies including, NH Department of Transportation (NH DOT), NH Department of Environmental Services, UNH Technology Transfer Center (T2) and New Hampshire Regional Planning Commissions. The project was funded jointly through the Town of Grantham and NH DOT.
The field work for the project was completed by UVLSRPC employees who visited and assessed every culvert on town roads. The information collected included physical characteristics of the structure, stream, fluvial conditions and wildlife, as well as, mapping each culvert through Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
The results of the project were compiled into a report for the town officials, including a map book with culvert condition ratings. Visit the attached files to view the report and raw data.
Additional Information
All of the culvert data is saved through the SADES online database and was collected using iPads and ESRI Online ArcGIS Software. The iPads were provided through the SADES program at T2.
